And many many thanks to Sammie for saving me and not leaving me behind!!!
We could never leave anybody behind. :-)
For Mindy:
"NEOPRENE is a synthetic rubber material designed to act flexibly, durably, and to resist breakdown by water. It is form fitting and resilient. Because air and water become isolated in its unique molecular structure, Neoprene is temperately stable. "
Mac wore a Neoprene outfit in one of the "JAG" episodes!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The seven agents hurried out the door into the bright sunshine as DC stopped to use the Flonase she'd taken, because "only Flonase is approved to treat nasal symptoms from indoor and outdoor allergies as well as year round nonallergic nasal symptoms".
"Ah, the sweet smell of freedom," Sugcat breathed. They piled into their white surveillance van, which appeared miraculously because Sammie is too tired to come up with a real reason it appeared.
"We have to go back inside to save Gibbs," Chickbay said suddenly, hand back on the door handle. "I didn't take a dive for the team for nothing!"
"Hold on." DC shook her head. "We need a plan. We have no plan."
"We have a plan," Nikkinor replied. "We're going to save the real Gibbs."
"Maybe we should leave the real Gibbs there temporarily and get rid of the imposter first," DC mused. "Having two Gibbs around could be a serious problem. We'd have to tell them apart. Do you want to have to do that?" After a long silence, she added, "And if we want to set things back to rights, we need to save Gibbs - from dff."
"YES!" Chickbay and Sugcat cheered.
"We have to get past security, get into headquarters. We need Tom Morrow."
"Can we bring Kate back to life, too, if we're getting Tommie?" Sundance asked hopefully.
"Sure, why not," DC shrugged.
"I believe in miracles / Since you came along / You sexy thin - "
"I don't think resurrection was the miracle the song's talking about, Sammie." Mindy patted her.
"Hey," Sundance added. "Can we save the first season Ari while we're at it? The Ari who would never kill Kate, the one Kate has the hots for?"
"I disagree with the 'hots' part because Kate and Ari are just squicky gross," DC said, "but I agree on getting the cool Ari back."
"NOOOOOOO," came the chorus of voices. "NEVER."
"Democracy," DC shrugged to Sundance.
"Hold on, I thought we were just going to expose the imposter Gibbs," Sugcat replied. "I just want my man back."
"You mean you want me to have MY man back," Chickbay corrected.
"Now, now, children." Mindy shook a finger at them. "Don't make me make both of you disappear."
Sundance handed DC a radio and took one for herself. "Since you like Morrow so much, you go find him. Sammie and I are going to go dig up Kate and take her to Miracle Max."

"Talk about taking a pay cut," DC muttered as she opened the door and entered the small brick building.
"No kidding," Nikkinor replied as she looked around the establishment. "This is some 'new assignment' to be assigned to. I thought he was going to Homeland Security."
"How can I help you today?" Morrow asked, adjusting his visor as he looked down at the two young women.
"Two Big Macs with fries," DC said.

Real Gibbs, in the meantime, had no problem getting into headquarters after sneaking out of the asylum.
The sneaking out had been rather easy - maybe a little too easy. After taking his ever-present knife - rule no. 9 - and cutting himself out of his straitjacket, he crept down the hall to the rather empty nurses' station. There was some doctor sitting there eating cheesecake and looking at pictures of some redhead, so Gibbs just whacked him out cold and took his clothes.
"WAIT one stinkin' minute," Chickbay suddenly interjected, standing arms akimbo and glaring down at Sammie. "Gibbs gets by Dr. Batt by knocking him out? Instead I had to - " she waved her arms for emphasis. "I lost a cheesecake in that process!"
Sammie looked up, wide-eyed and scared. "Mindy wrote that part!" she squeaked, pointing at the writer nearby, who sat filing her nails.
After that, getting out by pretending to be Dr. Batt wasn't that hard. But Gibbs couldn't understand all the
dirty looks he was getting as he left. Maybe it had something to do with the redhead in those pictures that doctor was looking at, but he didn't have time to dwell on it. His beloved Kate was dead, and he was out for blood.
He had then sneaked into his own house and changed out of his clothes, then just scanned himself into headquarters. Really, this was all a little too easy. It was as though people expected him to be at work.
He had to admit being surprised, since no one had thought to tell him about what happened to Ari. He figured that Ducky would have at least come to let him know about the hunt for Ari - for Kate's killer - but no one seemed to realize he was even alive. He knew he hadn't taken a bullet and wasn't dead, but he was dying for news about the investigation and he hadn't heard a bloody thing. Including from Director Morrow.
While Director Morrow never believed Ari was so bad, Gibbs had at least expected the man would keep him updated. Something had to be majorly wrong.
He got his explanation as he, from his hiding place, looked into his office. He was momentarily stunned as he looked across the room at the...thing...now occupying his chair.
It was like looking in a mirror.
This...imposter!...had duped everyone! Gibbs held his gun pointed forward and crept through the bullpen.

"You're only going ten miles over the limit!" Sugcat exclaimed, looking at the speedometer.
"And that's pushing it!" DC huffed back, easing off the gas and slamming on the brakes as she saw a car come on the horizon.
"D, that car is a hundred yards away," Chickbay pointed out from the backseat, "and it's on the other side of the median. The CONCRETE median."
"I'd like to save Gibbs before I qualify for my AARP card, here," Nikkinor called.
"Make a right," Morrow said, pointing, and DC slowly turned into the parking lot and was waved right through. "I really have to do something about security," the man grumbled. "They didn't even check for ID."
"Now, y'all hush up and look for a red Ford with its driver side window rolled down an inch," Sugcat ordered.
"It would be easier if you guys hadn't insisted on putting Leroy Jethro Gibbs stained-glass windows in every window on this van," DC replied sarcastically.
"Hush up," Nikkinor muttered, elbowing her.
"Right there," Chickbay replied, pointing over her shoulder. Sugcat pulled into the spot right next to the car, and the figure sitting in the driver's seat turned to look at them, pulling down a dark pair of glasses.
Piled in the car, Mindy, Sammie, and Sundance waved cheerily and pointed at Kate.
"Yea!" Nikkinor whooped, jumping up and down in the van. "When I said I would never let my ship die, I said I would never let my ship die!"
"Sit down! Do I have to sedate you?" DC threatened, waving her cold meds.
"I don't believe it!" Nikkinor continued, face planted clear up against the window, looking at the better half of her favorite ship sitting in the red car. "She's alive! Aren't you happy?" She poked DC. "You are a Kate fan!"
"A restoration wouldn't be the same with Kate," DC agreed.
"How'd you do it?" Nikkinor radioed into the other car.
"A good writer never reveals her secrets," Sammie whispered enigmatically.
"You have no idea, do you," said DC in a 'I am SO on to your little scheme' tone.
"Nope. I just wanted her alive," Sammie replied, shrugging.
"Is that a Gibbs stained glass window?" Kate asked in puzzlement, squinting slightly at the van's side window.
"Yup, like it?" Mindy asked.
"It's scary," Kate muttered.
"Kate talks!" Nikkinor shouted. "She's really alive!" She and DC dropped everything and attempted to dance around the cramped van.
"SIT." Director Morrow gave them one look, and both of them dropped obediently into sitting positions, now quiet.
"He IS good," Sugcat mumbled.
